Our Philosophy

Every act of creation is a gathering of spirit.

At Flowing Hearts, we believe that every creation is a living dialogue between spirit, land, and community. Each piece of art holds medicine—carrying stories, teachings, and dreams forward. Our galleries are not just spaces to view art; they are gatherings of spirit, places where creativity becomes ceremony, and where our ancestors are uplifted with honour.

Guiding Our Collective

Nicole, the heart behind Flowing Hearts, is a Métis poet, drum artist, spiritual pathfinder, and way-shower for Indigenous creativity. Her journey has been one of profound transformation—from a life guided strictly by rules and structure to one now led by intuition, creativity, and ancestral wisdom. Inspired by her ancestor, Flowing Waters, Nicole has dedicated herself to creating spaces where Indigenous artists are seen, celebrated, and elevated. Through Flowing Hearts Indigenous Art Collective, Nicole is building a legacy of empowerment and visibility, turning each exhibit into a meaningful, high-end experience that resonates deeply with both creators and visitors alike.

Meet Nicole,

Our Visionary

Guided by a deep connection to spirit and land, Nicole brings a rare blend of strength, compassion, and creative vision to the collective. Her work is not only about showcasing art—it’s about opening pathways for others to step into their gifts, their stories, and their rightful place in the world of creation. Through Flowing Hearts, Nicole invites each artist and visitor to walk a little closer to their own spirit, knowing that every step, every brushstroke, and every drumbeat carries forward the heartbeat of a much greater story.

This is more than art— it's a return to spirit, a remembering of who we are, a rekindling of ancestral memory. We invite all those who feel the call to create, to heal, and to rise to join us.

Recently, Nicole was honoured with the 2026 Woman of Influence Award in Arts and Culture in her home city. To mark the moment, she shared a personal reflection on what the recognition means to her, to Flowing Hearts, and to the larger community of Indigenous women and artists this work is meant to uplift.

We’re honoured to share her words here.
